Basic Rider
Course (BRC): A Course for riders
that introduces basic motorcycle operation and develops street riding
strategies. On-cycle experiences are aimed at developing riding skills
and confidence. Ideal for the beginning rider or as a refresher for
developing basic riding skills. Persons under 18 years of age must have
written parental consent and are granted a fee waiver for this course.
Photo ID and proper protective attire are required to participate. · The BRC is designed for beginning
riders. · Approximately 4 hours of classroom
instruction and 16 hours of riding exercises in a controlled environment
provide a complete introduction to motorcycling. · The course is conducted over three
sessions. · Motorcycles and helmets are provided
for your use during the course. · Boone Center currently has 12 range
bikes. · Prerequisite: students must be able
to ride a bicycle. · Classroom instruction will be
conducted on Friday from 6-9 pm. Saturday and Sunday we combine range work
with classroom time. Those days go from 8am – 4pm. · The course is provided at no cost for
current Army or Air Guard members based on funding from the State Safety
Office. For all others the cost is $50.00. Payment will be due upon
registration. Payments may be made by check (made out to
KGMR) or PayPal. · A Kentucky Motorcycle License Waiver
is available to students who successfully complete the class. · Class is limited to 12 students and
will be filled according to receipt of applications. Required
items for the BRC are: · Full face or 3/4 helmet with eye protection
(Face shield on helmet, sunglasses or Prescription glasses). Helmets are
provided if needed. HALF HELMETS ARE NOT AUTHORIZED FOR THE BRC PER KMP. · Long sleeve shirt or jacket. · Full fingered gloves. · Long pants in good condition (No
holes, rips, or tears). · Over-the-ankle sturdy footwear. Current Air or Army
Guard members are authorized to take this course, based on their Unit
Commander's approval, in lieu of Drill per the TAG policy letter dated 01 APR

Safety Training Registration Request to the state safety office. Dates for

– 6 October The cost for the
BRC is $50. The course schedule is Friday: 6-10pm, Saturday: 8am – 4pm,
Sunday: 8am – 4 pm. Basic Rider
Course 2 (BRC 2) (formerly ERC): 1. An experienced
licensed rider who wants to renew and practice street riding maneuvers on
their cycle. 2. An Experienced
rider holding a permit that wished to receive a license waiver. 3. Participants are
required to bring a street legal motorcycle, proof of insurance and their
current motorcycle license or permit. · BRC 2 is a one day course · Classes begin promptly at 9am –
5 pm. · There are 12 seats in each class. · The course is provided at no cost for
current Army or Air Guard members. Contact your State Safety Office for
information. · For all others the cost is $25.00.

for the BRC 2 are: E1 – 11 May E2 – 15 June E3 - 21 September We can also
schedule a BRC2 for a group or riding club. Payments may be
